Anthony J. Caine | Founder & Chairman
LJM’s Founder and Chairman is Anthony J. Caine. Mr. Caine is 53 years old and spent the first 16 years of his professional career in the computer and software industries, including employment at Hewlett-Packard, Apple Computer and Trilogy Development Company. In 1990 Mr. Caine founded Spyglass, Inc. where he served as Spyglass’ first President and CEO. In 1995 Spyglass, Inc. was IPO’d and traded from June 1995 through March 2000 on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. In March 2000 Spyglass, Inc. was acquired by OpenTV (OPTV) in a $2.5 billion stock exchange transaction. Since retiring from the software industry in November 1995, Mr. Caine has traded options and managed options accounts on a full-time basis. Mr. Caine received degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1979.
Tony is registered with the CFTC as an AP and principal of LJM and possesses his FINRA Series 3 license.
J. Scott Sykora | President
LJM's President is J. Scott Sykora. Mr. Sykora is 53 years old and is responsible for all LJM operations including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, marketing/advertising and new retail sales. Scott joined LJM in February 2006 after seven years with Deloitte Consulting Product Services LLC where he acted as Portfolio Director. Prior to Deloitte Mr. Sykora worked at the Hewlett-Packard Company in the global system integrator alliances organization. From 1989–1995 Mr. Sykora worked at his family's business, Floralife, Inc., where he acted as President and COO. From 1979-1989 he worked in the Computer Sales Group of the Hewlett-Packard Company. Mr. Sykora has a bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Miami University of Ohio and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Scott is registered with the CFTC as an AP and principal of LJM and possesses his FINRA Series 3 license.
Guillermo Bublik, Ph.D. | Chief Risk Officer
LJM’s Chief Risk Officer is Guillermo Bublik, Ph.D. Dr. Bublik is in charge of developing risk management and new trading strategies for the firm. Dr. Bublik joined LJM in June of 2008 from UBS O'Connor, the hedge fund arm of UBS Global Asset Management, where he was in charge of designing arbitrage strategies for the Convertible Bonds and Credit funds, as well as implementing portfolio risk control measures. Dr. Bublik has 18 years of experience building pricing models and risk management systems in all major product areas: equities, foreign exchange, interest rates and fixed income. While working at O'Connor and Associates in the early 1990's he was part of a team which designed and implemented a novel approach to modeling derivative instruments that allowed for the clean aggregation of portfolio risk measures across multiple asset classes. In the late 1990's he was the Global Head of the Equities Quantitative Development team, delivering the models used in the global risk management system of UBS Investment Bank. Guillermo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical Physics and a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Washington. He completed his Undergraduate studies at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fernando Anton, Ph.D. | Chief Trading Officer
LJM’s Chief Trading Officer is Fernando Anton, Ph.D. Dr. Anton started trading equity derivatives at Swiss Bank O’Connor in 1994. Subsequent to the merger with UBS, Fernando assumed increasing roles including senior trader in the Latin American Equity Derivatives group, co-head of trading for Latin American Emerging Markets Credit Derivatives and head of the trading desk for the proprietary book of Capital Structure Arbitrage. In 2006, Fernando was employed at Citadel Investment Group where he acted as risk manager for their credit strategies. From 2007-2008, Fernando was employed at Credit Suisse Asset Management where he focused on structured products. Prior to joining LJM Partners, Fernando was the CIO of CCapital, a hedge fund start-up based in Zurich, Switzerland. Fernando holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical Physics from Oxford University, a Master in Science in Theoretical Physics: Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, London, UK and a Bachelor in Science, Physics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City.
Fernando is registered with the CFTC as a principal of LJM and his application as AP is pending.
Mark Shepherd | principal trader
LJM’s principal trader for its various long volatility strategies is Mark Shepherd. Mark is responsible for trading the LJM Long Volatility strategy for both hedge and profit standards as well as the long volatility component within the LJM Blended Volatility strategy. Mark’s background includes being a lead independent market maker for five years on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). In addition, prior to joining LJM Mark was a proprietary trader developing strategies involving long and short volatility, delta, contract and vega neutral positions. Mark graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1993 with a BA in History and a Minor in Business Administration. He attended the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, GSAL program from 2003-2004.

LJM leverages the expertise of valued partners to provide a high degree of service to its clients.
- Capital Trading Group, L.P. (“CTG”) is a US registered introducing broker (IB) and member of the NFA. CTG is the exclusive executing broker for LJM business. CTG staff is available to assist with the establishment of new client accounts, all client inquiries, capital additions, disbursements and administrative support.
- ABN AMRO Clearing Chicago, LLC (“ABN AMRO”) (formerly Fortis Clearing Americas, LLC) is a US registered futures commission merchant (FCM) and a member of the NFA. ABN AMRO acts as one of the two primary clearing firms for LJM business. ABN AMRO provides all trade confirmations, client reporting including daily and monthly statements (hard copy and on-line) and tax documents for its clients. In addition to ABN AMRO and FCS, LJM may work with other clearing firms.
- FCStone, LLC ("FCS”) (subsidiary of FCStone Group, Inc.) is a US registered futures commission merchant (FCM) and a member of the NFA. FCS acts as one of the two primary clearing firms for LJM business. FCS provides all trade confirmations, client reporting including daily and monthly statements (hard copy and on-line) and tax documents for its clients. In addition to FCS and FCA, LJM may work with other clearing firms.
- TMA Trading (“TMA”) (division of FCStone, LLC) is a firm concentrating in S&P options working on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The firm’s two managing partners, Keith Fracassi and William Kurysz, have more than 28 years combined experience trading S&P options and have executed LJM’s orders for more than six months. TMA's expertise allows LJM to optimize pricing for the entrance and exit of S&P options positions and to adjust to the rapidly changing S&P futures and options market conditions. In addition, LJM may interact with TMA partners regarding specific S&P options trading strategies.
- Mayer Brown, LLP (formerly Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, LLP) provides legal counsel and is responsible for regulatory filings with the National Futures Association (NFA) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
- Michael J. Liccar and Company is the accounting firm which provides all performance reporting and retention of client documents required by the NFA and CFTC.
- Stephen L. Motta and Associates is the general accounting and tax firm providing all required financial reporting for LJM Partners.
